The Chateau and Gardens
The chateau is at the heart of the estate, and is surrounded by traditional Norman buildings that are dotted around the gardens. Guests of the chateau have use of these two buildings:
The Pool house. This was formerly a stable block and was renovated in 2004 and now consists of a large kitchen, a multipurpose galleried hall that can easily seat 28 for dinner, and two shower rooms. Upstairs there is a spa area for massages provided by our housekeeper. The pool is close by and is 12 metres by 6 metres. It is heated and functional from June to September inclusive.
There are a number of other buildings in the gardens used for the running of the estate including:
The Estate Manager’s House
The Carriage House
The Fruit Store (a mirror image of the Chapel)
The Children’s House (currently used for storage).
This consists of a farmhouse that was fully restored 1in 2004 and now provides accommodation for up to 10 people. It has its own entrance drive from the public road, and is surrounded by grazing land and orchards.
Below the chateau gardens and the farm is a wood with a path going through it that leads to an old lavoir where the washing for the chateau was once done.
